Why Dad-Friendly Baby Shower Ideas Are Important?
If you are a soon-to-be-dad, how about take a chance to host a baby shower for yourself and your buddies? You may give me a rather confused look...but you won't do that again after you learn the experiences from David Moye, who is a La Mesa-based writer who is looking forward to introducing his as-yet unborn son to such manly rituals as playing Frisbee golf, listening to KISS CDs and eating fatty foods when mother isn't around. Why he did this? If you've had the same experiences as a dad-to-be, this might be familiar to you... Some of your wife's friends and family threw her a baby shower and she came home in a happy mood with all sorts of cool baby shower gifts for the baby (and tons of diapers). And you felt a little sorry for yourself. How come your wife's friends and family are willing to throw her a party where she gets to open presents and you get the shaft from your guy friends? Those same guys who put their greedy paws out for cigars the minute Owen slips down that birth canal and starts screaming like a banshee. Sounds familiar to you? Then do yourself a favor(And mom-to-be please do your hubbies a favor)! But this time, you don't have to throw a manly baby shower. Coed baby shower is a party for men and women, and more like a small family celebration that welcome their little new member, without emphasis on those frilly things and ooh-and-aah activities at women-only parties. You can have everyone come with their favorite team jersey, hat, or t-shirt. Instead of a traditional raffle, have everyone guess the outcome of the game, winner gets half the pot and Mom and Dad keep half for a diaper fund. You could play games especially for coed showers like printable Guys and Dolls and Baby Jeopardy. Men even like playing Pregnancy, How Sweet It Is if you give all of the candy bars as the winner's prize. For baby shower gift, a good idea is to prepare an entertainment gift certificate, such as movie passes. Mom and Dad might feel guilty about spending money on themselves after Baby arrives, so this is a perfect chance for them to splurge! You can even include free babysitting. |
